Punctuation marks are simply symbols, which signify the structure and organization of written language. In addition, punctuation also dictates intonation and pauses to be recognized when writing and reading.

Punctuation 1 - Periods

The period is the stop sign of punctuation.

Punctuation 2 - Commas

The comma has a great deal of uses with english grammatical rules. Not only are commas used for a pause, but they also help clarify and added fluidity to writing. 

Punctuation 3 - Semicolons

semicolon is punctuation mark (;) indicating a pause, typically between two main clauses, that is more pronounced than that indicated by a comma.
